UPDATE: Fera’wyn’s Artisan Chocolates relocated to Holly Springs, NC in 2018.

Fera’wyn’s Artisan Chocolates was founded by David and Joanna Whittingham in 2013. They make truffles, caramels, bars, turtles, and chocolate-covered items that feature delicious flavor combinations and pretty decorations.

A pretty selection of Fera’wyn’s Artisan Chocolates including the recommended Limoncello and Naga Chili on the right.

We like everything we’ve ever tried from Fera’wyn’s, and lots of it we love. We especially recommend their Limoncello truffles and Naga Chili truffles (if you like heat). Also their turtles: milk or dark chocolate-covered chewy caramels on half a pecan molded to look like turtles. And while it’s not chocolate, their rarely-seen Autumn Brittle is a must: a subtle, spiced pumpkin & sesame seed thin brittle that won’t kill your teeth.

Beyond that, any of the truffles and caramels are worth trying. Fera’wyn’s chocolatiers are expert at tweaking flavors to make them better than your expectations, often with unusual twists, like adding lila quoi (Hawaiian passion fruit) to their lil’ Green Matcha truffle to brighten the earthy flavor of the matcha green tea ganache. Or adding pumpkin puree to their pumpkin truffle, so you get the texture of a pumpkin pie in the ganache and not just the spices.

Since their relocation to North Carolina, you can order their chocolates online. Or visit their café in Holly Springs, where you can also order treats from their dessert (some vegan and/or gluten free) and coffee bar.
