Congrats to Socola Chocolatiers on their successful Kickstarter campaign to fund chocolate-making and coffee equipment for their new shop in SF. With a goal of $10,000, they actually raised over $14,000 from over 300 backers, ranging from $15 pledges to one backer who pledged $1,000.

Socola
Just imagine: Soon this will be a pretty café/chocolate shop. Just in time for Valentine’s Day.

As this recent picture from Wendy Lieu, co-founder and chief chocolatier of Socola shows, they are making good progress on building out their dream. Plans are to open the second week of February in time for Valentine’s Day.

Sounds great

The store is located at 535 Folsom Street in SF’s SOMA district. When finished, it will include a retail space and full commercial kitchen.

In addition to making and selling chocolates there, the space includes a café area where they will offer espresso drinks and pastries. They plan to host events at the shop, like chocolate tastings and parties, and offer chocolate-making classes.

Can’t wait

We at CBTB look forward to checking out this new fun space featuring local artisan chocolate. We wish the folks (and Harriet the Flying Alpaca) at Socola the best of luck with their new endeavor.
